Every Child Deserves a Family
Approximately 50% of Angels infants and toddlers are eventually adopted by their Angels parents. The primary goal of the foster care system, however, is to reunite children with their biological families. We try to pair Angels parents who would like to adopt with Angels children who may eventually need a permanent family. We are never able to guarantee eventual adoption. All adoption decisions are made by Juvenile Court judges.
Adopting Your Angels Child
Angels social workers will work closely with parents who are interested in adoption. This process is called "concurrent planning". When an Angels child becomes available for adoption, we help facilitate the process to ensure a smooth transition for the child and family.
Become an Approved Resource Family
All Angels Foster Care resource families must be approved by the state of California. Angels social workers will guide you through the resource parent approval process.
Length of Time Fostering
Angels infants and toddlers are often in foster care from twelve to eighteen months before adoption or family reunification occurs. This timeline is a rough estimate, however, because each child's case is unique.
Likelihood of Adoption
Although it is possible to adopt a child the first time you foster, the foster care process is unpredictable. There may be unexpected developments in any child's case. Three out of four Angels parents eventually adopt, but many foster one or more children who reunify with their biological families before they are able to adopt an Angels child.
